The RSG pickup is a complete system that includes a pickup, harness and cover ready to install. Uses an MGB 4.0 Mini Box Bucker pickup which is soldered to a 500K economy harness, or a 3.0 Micro Pup and 250K harness. The pickup is secured into a cover. This pickup can be mounted anywhere between the neck and the bridge to provide excellent sound. The cover is .3 inches thick so make sure there is a .3 difference between the top of the frets and the top of the box. Assembly is quick and easy, simply drill a one inch hole at the pickup location and feed the jack and pots through the hole, secure the pickup with the provided screws then mount the pots and the jack. The RSG pickups are available in four popular finishes including shiny aluminum, black, gold and antique brass. Each pickup is fully tested to insure optimum performance.

It's small in scale and works out perfect for a lot of cigar box guitars. This humbucker has split coil wiring and is a little bit different than some of the wirings you'll see on some of our other pickups. Make sure to watch our video on that above. We've got there finishes including chrome, gold, black. The Hot Tuna is a new pickup that we've designed and we are really proud of we've done, we hope you guys like it and help make The Hot Tunas a household name.

In some builds it is preferred to place the pickup under the lid of the box, this practice is often referred to as "ghosting". Many builders have had good success using the MGB Mini Box Buckers for these applications.  MGB is proud to introduce our new single coil Point Five O flat pup designed for ghosting. Make sure the magnets face the strings.  By adding more wire and strengthening the magnetic field we have a solid solution. These new pickups are a single coil version of the Lucky 13 pickup. They only have one coil and  measure 6.5 k ohms plus, thus the name Point Five O or .5. We have found in testing that the pickups work well when the distance from the pickup to the strings is .5".  Measuring 2.56" by 1.6" and .3" thick, these pickups can be used on 3,4 and 6 string builds. Chrome four string wrap around bridge suitable for cbg builds. Saddles are spaced .6 inches apart and string width at bridge is 1.8 inches. Requires a larger than standard neck, one that is close to 2 inches and the box end.  These bridges are taller than standard bridges requiring the the stagger between the box face and fret height to be near .5 inches. The mounting post allow for fine adjustment to get the action height correct. Template is included for laying out mounting hole locations. Simply line up the template on the centerline an scale length. Mark the holes and drill with a 12mm drill bit. You can use a smaller bit and file to size. Add backer to make sure top is close to .750 inches thick at the hole position.

This kit includes everything needed to build a Mandolin except for the body. The neck is Okume with a Walnut fretboard. Binding and face and side fret markers are included. The scale length is 13 3/4 inches. The neck also includes a truss rod. A compensated and adjustable Walnut bridge is included along with a chrome tailpiece. Tuners and a truss rod cover are included.  Four pairs of stings are provided including .012, .016, .026 and .032 sizes. Tuning is GDAE. Note: Keep in mind the tension created by 8 strings is substantial, all boxes will need additional reinforcement to handle the added stress. Make sure the top where the neck is connected is thick (close to 1/2" is ideal) and rigid. You will note that two hanger bolts are used to provide and solid connection between the neck and the box.

MGB Guitars is proud to introduce their Bigfoot Easy Box enclosure. This innovative enclosure has two sides with two distinct uses. One with a sound hole and one with a Bigfoot sound hole. This box was designed and built using the same principles used in acoustic instrument construction. The box is built using purfling and braces to create an incredibly strong and rigid structure. Additional reinforcements were added to key locations to allow when securing bridges. Cover plates are available to cover the sound hole.  Measuring  9 3/4 inches by 7 inches and 2 1/2 thick the box is made from thin ply with a top veneer of Sapele. IT comes in two versions one is unfinished and the other has several coats of spray finish. This box provides a perfect canvass for creating your own piece of musical art. Special note: As the strings are soft and the leading edge of the nut is quite sharp, oftentimes the strings will bind on the nut and the gears will grind till they fail.
