These kits are super fun to build and very easy to work with. For the best results, I highly recommend getting the bridge placement template. All you need to supply is a box. The kit has everything else. You’ll only need a few tools (screwdriver or wrench, drill, and a little wood glue). This kit can easily be assembled in 60-90 minutes. The MGB Easy Box makes a great platform for this kit with its pre-cut sound hole and bracing designed to maximize both sturdiness and acoustics. Plus, you have all kinds of freedom to embellish or decorate to taste. Your only limits with this kit are your imagination. Definitely recommend this kit to anyone from a novice to an expert.

This made it so easy to build. I built two ukuleles in 4 days. It only took that long because I built them one at a time, and I had to wait for the glue to dry in the reinforcement I put in the boxes. Price is really good too, for all that you get!

Everything you need in one place - just add the box. I had a cedar cigar box from Nicaragua with a great label and printing. Coupled with the bridge placement template, I was up and playing in no time. The frets needed a bit of filing but no big deal. Highly recommended. Will buy again.

I’ve built 5 of these kits so far. For the price, it’s fantastic. You can literally bolt it together, string it up and start playing. If you want to go further, you can spend some time polishing the frets, tweaking the nut slots and such to get the action where you like it, but right out of the box, it’s as good as most $100-150 ukes out there.
I like to build mine upside down from how Mike shows in the video. I use the bottom of the box for the soundboard instead of the top. That makes it easy to access the inside, and I find the bottoms usually are better wood. A lot of pretty boxes have cardboard tops.

I would like to see upgrade options for the tuners and strings. I’d happily pay more for those at a higher grade, but for this price point, I am thoroughly satisfied.

The neck I got Is very straight, the frets are nicely dressed and feels very comfortable to play.

The neck was easy to install, the bridge and saddle were very good quality.

I had to tighten the tuners very slightly but they hold tune very well and operate smoothly.
