This kit includes everything needed to build a Mandolin except for the body. The neck is Okume with a Walnut fretboard. Binding and face and side fret markers are included. The scale length is 13 3/4 inches. The neck also includes a truss rod. A compensated and adjustable Walnut bridge is included along with a chrome tailpiece. Tuners and a truss rod cover are included. Four pairs of stings are provided including .012, .016, .026 and .032 sizes. Tuning is GDAE.

Note: Keep in mind the tension created by 8 strings is substantial, all boxes will need additional reinforcement to handle the added stress. Make sure the top where the neck is connected is thick (close to 1/2" is ideal) and rigid. You will note that two hanger bolts are used to provide and solid connection between the neck and the box.

GREAT KIT!

I build creative instruments from almost anything. I've built two Mandolins using these kits. They are easy to integrate into a build. And they sound amazing as well.

I am waiting for more kits to come in as I have three builds waiting. Including one very creative build.

Excellent kit!

I just put together my first mandolin kit, using a cigar box. The neck is high quality and assembly is a breeze. I used a lucky 13, under the hood, at the neck position.

Another great kit

Another great kit for the price can’t beat it challenging at first but it’s an awesome little instrument in the end and sounds great all you need is a box and some re enforcement bracing ( due to the string tension) assemble tune it up and got your self a nice mandolin for a great price

Mandolin Kit

As soon as I saw these kits were available I knew I had to get one. I ordered mine in November, the next thing I knew they were sold out. I just finished building my Mandolin. I used a Chillin' Moose box that I did some reinforcement on to handle the stress. I am very pleased with the way it came out. I love the sound of it. I can't wait to be able to order another one for a special build I want to do. Great product!
